Expertise in SMT PCB Assembly

Our state-of-the-art Surface Mount Technology (SMT) lines are optimized for high-density, multi-layer, and complex component placements.

We can handle a wide range of advanced components, including:

  • Ball Grid Array (BGA) & Ultra-Fine BGA (uBGA): Precision placement down to 0.3mm pitch with real-time X-Ray alignment verification.
  • QFN, QFP, SOIC, and PLCC Packages: Advanced coplanarity controls to prevent solder bridging and open joints.
  • Package-on-Package (PoP) & Small Chips: Expert handling of 01005 and 0201 passives with high-speed placement heads.

But our commitment to quality goes beyond component expertise. We utilize advanced inspection techniques, including AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) and X-Ray inspection, to guarantee flawless assembly across every production batch.

Through-Hole Technology (THT) Assembly Strength

For power electronics, connectors, and high-stress components, THT remains irreplaceable. STHL PCBA also excels in Through-Hole Technology (THT) assembly. Our services encompass:

  • Manual and Automatic Component Insertion: We leverage both manual dexterity and automation for high-quality component placement.
  • THT Assembly Fixtures: Our custom wave soldering fixtures ensure consistent and efficient assembly of through-hole components.
  • ESD and RoHS Compliant Soldering: We prioritize electrostatic discharge protection and adhere to RoHS compliance, guaranteeing the safety and environmental responsibility of our processes.
  • Inspection and Functional Testing: Just like SMT assemblies, THT boards undergo rigorous inspection and functional testing before shipment.

China's Supply Chain Resilience & Efficiency

How Shenzhen's industrial cluster optimizes cost, speed, and reliability for global electronics buyers.

1. The Shenzhen Ecosystem

As the world's primary electronics hub, Shenzhen provides immediate access to raw materials, components, and specialized tooling. This proximity reduces component transit times from weeks to hours, allowing STHL to offer rapid prototyping and flexible production scaling.

2. Strategic Component Sourcing

By maintaining direct partnerships with authorized distributors (Arrow, Avnet, Future Electronics) and local verified component manufacturers, STHL bypasses broker markups and mitigates the risk of counterfeit components, ensuring full traceability.

3. Cross-Border Logistics Integration

With streamlined customs clearance and proximity to Hong Kong and Shenzhen international airports, we offer optimized shipping routes (air, sea, express) that guarantee prompt delivery to North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Answers to common technical and logistical questions regarding our SMT PCB assembly process.

What file formats do you require for SMT assembly quotes?
We require Gerber files (RS-274X format), ODB++, or IPC-2581 files for PCB fabrication, along with a detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) in Excel format (including manufacturer part numbers, descriptions, and quantities) and Centroid/Pick-and-Place coordinate data for SMT placement.
How does STHL prevent counterfeit electronic components?
We source components exclusively from original component manufacturers (OCMs) or authorized franchise distributors. For hard-to-source or obsolete parts, we use verified independent distributors who provide full testing reports (de-capsulation, X-ray, and electrical testing) to guarantee authenticity.
Do you support both leaded and lead-free (RoHS) assembly?
Yes. We operate dedicated lead-free SMT and THT lines to prevent cross-contamination. All RoHS-compliant orders are processed using lead-free solder alloys (such as SAC305) and are fully compliant with European and global environmental directives.
What testing methodologies do you perform in-house?
We offer a comprehensive suite of testing services, including 3D Solder Paste Inspection (SPI), Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), 2D/3D X-Ray inspection (for BGA/QFN voiding analysis), In-Circuit Testing (ICT), and Functional Testing (FCT) customized to your specific test protocols.
What is your typical lead time for PCB assembly?
For quick-turn prototypes, we can complete assembly within 24 to 48 hours once all components and PCBs are received. For production runs, our standard lead time is 2 to 3 weeks, depending on component availability and testing complexity.
